Opening Session: Self-Care & Accountability: Finding that Work/Life Balance

Stressed out at work? Juggling the demands of work and home life? This session will showcase how to address the increasing demands on a stressed-out workforce. Topics to be covered include:

  • Addressing mental health issues and burnout
  • Irate and angry homeowners and the impact on staff.
  • Strategies to better manage these issues and provide a better work-life balance between work and home.

Breakout Sessions I

Session 1: Are You Looking to Spice Up Team Meetings But Don't Know How?  

This session will explore how to use everyday materials to create fun and memorable icebreakers and exercises meant to foster communication, enhance teamwork and engage your team.  A few sample exercises of different lengths will be presented during this session. This session is targeted towards business partner members but is open to all who are interested in the topic.

Session 2: Board Alignment: Creating a Highly Functioning Board

Do you face the challenge of how to deal with unresponsive Board members and boards that don’t get along? Do you have a board that micro-manages? This panel discussion will present strategies to address board issues and create a board that performs at a highly-effective level.

Session 1: Hiring & Retaining Talent

Hear from HR professionals on tips and strategies for hiring in a tight labor market and how companies and organizations can retain talent through workplace rules, policies, programs, compensation, and benefits. This session is targeted towards business partner members but is open to all who are interested in the topic.

Session 2: Developer Transition Process and Community Completion

You’ve hit the threshold of units conveyed and you’re ready to transition the community to full homeowner control. Learn the process and critical steps including the importance of a Transition Audit, a Transition Study, and learn how to negotiate with the developer.

Lunch and Closing Session: De-Escalating Conflict 

Does it ever seem like you are surrounded by conflict on a daily basis? Events outside our control, as well as divisions among the public are impacting daily life in community associations and elsewhere. Homeowners are arguing with each other over political signs, arguing with the board over assessments, and sometimes arguing with management and staff. Outside conflicts can also be unknowingly brough into your community or building through non-existent or lax security. Our panel of presenters will address methods to de-escalate conflicts before they get out of control.

The chapter has adopted a Covid Code of Conduct for all in person meetings and events.
