2024 State of the Industry Breakfast: The New Age of Association Democracy
CAI's Managers Committee presents the Chapter's annual State of the Industry Breakfast at an all new location for 2024! Join us at Vue on 50, on the 50th Floor of Three Logan Square, for a hot breakfast, spectacular views of the City of Philadelphia, and timely educational sessions on the New Age of Association Democracy. Even before the world went virtual in 2020, electronic meetings and electronic methods of voting were being adopted in community associations. Now, communities are using online systems for hybrid and online meetings, and voting on everything from special assessment approvals and adopting amendments to declarations to board elections. Join us as we discuss this new age of association democracy, its advantages and benefits, and a case study in online voting. Opening Session: The Truth About Online VotingWith so many technology options, how do boards/managers navigate all today’s choices for electronic voting? This session will cover different service levels, advantages, and disadvantages of each, as well as who should be involved in set up, reporting and the results. We'll also review state statutes and documents to guide us in protecting all parties involved, the integrity of the vote and responding to any challenges. Lastly, we'll talk about the commitment to the transition from paper to electronic voting, examining all the tools available to increase owner engagement.
Attendees will go away with some great ideas that can be used when selecting vendors in general, a better understanding of how electronic voting works, the benefits of this technology and an overall idea of where to find resources and industry professionals that can help and assist with the transition to online voting technology.
