Description

Act 17 of 2018 has been in effect for three years. What impact has it had on community associations in the Commonwealth? The legislation, sponsored by Representative Rosemary Brown, (R-Monroe), expanded the areas subject to investigation by the Pennsylvania Attorney General to include complaints about association meetings, quorums, voting/proxies and non-financial association records. The Act also requires a complaint to go through alternate dispute resolution if such a process exists in a community association. A representative from the Attorney General's office presents statistical information on complaints filed under the Act, and discuss what the AG’s Office does when a complaint is received.
