Webinar: Removing Restrictive Covenants - PA Act 54 of 2023

Pennsylvania Act 54 of 2023 provides community associations in the Commonwealth an avenue for removing discriminatory restrictive covenants. Act 54 provides an association’s board the right to delete these covenants without a vote of owners, and the right of any owner to force the board to consider taking action. This webinar will review the history of deed restrictions, the government’s push to allow them, as well as the prevalence of redlining, the Fair Housing Act and PA Human Relations Act, and how the legislation was conceived by the Pennsylvania Bar Association with the assistance of the CAI Pennsylvania Legislative Action Committee.
